Sean Michael Thomas

  Sean Michael Thomas is an international journalist, author, illustrator and voice artist currently living in Moscow, Russia. 

   Thomas was born and raised in Jakarta, Indonesia where he attended the Jakarta International School.Upon arriving in the United States, Sean and his family moved to Terre Haute, Indiana where he attended the Indiana State University School and Terre Haute South Vigo High School through his junior year.  Then Sean made use of his diverse collection of talents, marching for the famed Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps before attending the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy, in Northern Michigan.

    Sean Michael Thomas makes his living in the broadcasting industry as a multi-media journalist.   Sean’s early broadcasting career started in radio working In Richmond, Indiana for 1490 WKBV, WFMG and Kicks 96.  Leaving commercial radio, Sean went back to the Interlochen Arts Academy to work as part of the residence life faculty where he started 1490 WIRD student radio.  Sean’s transition into television came in Traverse City, Michigan where he started working as a news photographer for TV 7&4 News. 

     In 2004 Sean was thrust into the center of Hurricane Charlie covering the disaster for WFTX, Fox 4 News in Ft. Myers, Florida.  This opened the door for Sean to develop his skills as a reporter covering the unprecedented hurricane seasons of 2004 and 2005. His familiarity with Southeast Asia and disaster experience prompted his employers to send him over to cover the Indian Ocean Tsunami from Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Sean’s next move was to continue in the broadcasting industry  working for the NBC affiliate, KSEE 24 News, in Fresno, California.  Currently Sean is an anchor/reporter for the globally broadcast international news network “Russia Today” (RT), based in Moscow, Russia.  For RT  Sean has covered a wide variety of topics, including the presidential elections in Ukraine, the federal elections in Iraq and the Moscow Metro terrorist bombings  of 2010.

     As a  freelance writer, Sean has been featured in Fresno Magazine, Valley Health Magazine  as well as Senior Life Magazine. Additionally, Sean Michael Thomas has worked  as a copy writer with Liquid Films on various industrial projects.  Sean’s children’s books are:
